A vacation with the Lord

Thirty five Salesians had a vacation with the Lord at Mount Tabor, the Retreat House of the Diocese of Kohima, from 15 - 21 July. The five full days were indeed grace-filled days of intense encounter with the Lord and be renewed and rejuvenated.

Retreat: A Time for Spiritual Renewal

Altogether 30 Salesians took part in the 3rd Annual Retreat of the Province, held at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, from 7 - 13 July. The five full-days of prayer and recollection was an occasion for spiritual and salesian renewal of the confreres.

20 Students of Don Bosco College, Itangar represent Arunachal Pradesh at National Adventure Programme

As many as 20 students of Don Bosco College successfully completed the Summer Adventure Programme at Regional Adventure Sports Centre at Hatkoti, Shimla. It was organized under the aegis of NSS (National Service Scheme) in collaboration with Atal Behari Vajpayee Intstitute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali, a premier institute of mountaineering in the country. The ten-day programme lasted from 18th June to 27th June.

Difference between Outstanding and Average students is Motivation

``In a competitive world of today, only the outstanding and not the average performers survive``, said Fr. Mathew Thuniampara, Director of Education Commission of the Diocese of Kohima, in his message to the students, at the inaugural function of the New Academic Year cum Freshers` Day of Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur, on 1 July.

Administrators` Meeting cum Training held

The Annual Meeting cum Training of the administrators was held from 24 - 27 June, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, in which 40 participated. Organized by Fr. Jose Palely, the Provincial Economer, the four-day programme consisted of both input sessions as well as training in accounting.

DB Alumni celebrates Foundation Day

DB Alumni Dibrugarh Unit celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day on 12 June, with hoisting of the DBA flag at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dibrugarh, by DBA president, Dr. Ajoy Gogoi. In his speech he urged the alumni to speed up the registration work for the Golden Jubilee of the school to be celebrated in the month of October this year.

6th Rector of Salesian College, Dimapur, installed

Fr. Kunnathettu Vincent, was installed as the sixth Rector of Salesian College, Dimapur, the Post Novitiate house of the Province of Dimapur, on 7 June by Fr. James Poonthuruthil, Provincial. He succeeds Fr. Pulimoottil Alex, who was Rector from 2007 - 2010.

A New Look at SEPP

In Life Plus of Bosco Asha, Jorhat, the Salesian Educative Pastoral Plan (SEPP) was put up for the general public in a novel manner on 31st May, 2010. The presentation area, christened Don Bosco Lotta, was blessed and inaugurated by Rev. Fr. James Poonthuruthil, SDB, Provincial of Dimapur Province. The Mising tribal word, lotta, meaning a courtyard, where meetings and gatherings occur, is given a new connotation in the Life Plus campus.

IND Salesian Family Day celebrated

It was a wonderful coincidence, celebrating the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity and the Salesian Family Day on 30 May, in the Province of Dimapur. The solemn and meaningful celebration held at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, began with the Eucharist, presided over by Fr. James Poonthuruthil, Provincial, the centre of the family, joined by Fr. Nestor Guria, Vice Provincial, Fr. Jose Palely, Economer and around one hundred members of the Salesian Family - SDBs, FMAs, MSMHCs, Salesian Cooperators, Don Bosco Past and Present Pupils

Christ`s Priesthood as lived by DB expounded in a Symposium

To mark the Year for Priests, the Diocese of Kohima, organized a symposium with the theme, ``Christ`s Priesthood: As Lived and Expected``, on 26 May, at Pastoral Centre, Dimapur, where Fr. James Poonthuruthil, Provincial, presented a paper on ``Christ`s Priesthood as lived by St. John Bosco`` to the more than a hundred participants who consisted mainly of priests and religious of the diocese of Kohima.
