Understanding Addiction and its effects on academic performance of students
Tiruchy, 2016 Jul 25 On the 22nd July, a workshop was conducted in Madurai for teachers from five of our academic schools, on the theme ``understanding and assisting adolescent students coming from a personal or family background of addiction to alcohol and other drugs. There were totally 15 participants, 11 male and four female teachers. The topics covered alcoholism, addiction, brain studies on adolescent children of alcoholics, and prevention of drug abuse among school children. The workshop was conducted by Don Bosco JANANAM, (the Tiruchy Salesian Ministry for Alcoholics) as part of its initiatives for the province`s youth pastoral plan.  Read More »

Salesian College Dimapur outshines at Annual Sports Meet
Dimapur, 2016 Jul 21 Holy Cross Catholic Youth Movement, in Dimapur, Nagaland, organised the 2nd Annual Sports Meet in view of the upcoming Silver Jubilee of Holy Cross Youth Movement at the Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School Dimapur on 18th-19th July 2016. There were eighteen teams from six units that participated in the competitions from the Dimapur region. Salesian College of Higher Education team brought laurel to the college as it bagged the first and the second positions in the volleyball and basketball matches respectively. Father Gyan Sandeep Kujur, Vice-Principal of Salesian College, was the champion of men`s single badminton. Bro. Rajendra and Bro.
