I heartily congratulate SCS for installing and starting the broadcast of the community radio. It is the voice of those who are not often heard in the mainstream media. I hope that this example will spur on others to start similar ventures in other parts of Salesian India.

It is easier to run a commercial FM station than a community based one. While the former has recourse to the endless list of cine songs and voice of celebrities, the latter has to create new contents with the people and for the people. I wish 'voice of the hills' all success in building the lives of the people in the hills. Your daily commitment of 12 hours on air is a big challenge indeed. Hope to hear 'voices' next year and years to come! I'm listening.

Thank you. The Radio Salesian is a venture for the community irrespective of the social background of the people in the region. The Radio as means of disseminating the class room content of discussions by the students and faculty for the future prospective students is the intent besides providing entertainment.
