Don Bosco's Holy Relic at Holy Child Auxilium School, New Delhi
New Delhi, Aug. 3.  The Relic of Don Bosco arrived on Friday 29 July 2011 at the gates of Holy Child School, New Delhi, as part of the world wide pilgrimage to mark the 150th anniversary of the Salesian Order. The motorcade, accompanying the specially designed and built truck carrying the Holy Relic, reached Poorvi Marg from the Don Bosco Provincial House at Okhla at 7:40 am. Elaborate arrangement had been made by the Delhi police to direct and manage the traffic in the area. Both sides of the road were lined with HCA students waving ecstatically multihued flags while the air reverberated with their greetings ''Long Live Don Bosco!'' and ''We love you Don Bosco!''
The school band lead the Holy Visitor with a breathtaking slow march to the rhythmic beat of drums till they reached the portal of the school where the Sisters were waiting to greet them. There was a poignant silence while the Relic was being unloaded. The air rung with cheers as all saw the figure of the saint for the first time. After a brief but warm welcome by the Principal Rev. Sr. Stella, the students received the casket with song, dance and flowers.

The Homage to St. John Bosco started with an inspiring discourse by Mother Provincial Rev. Sr. Maria Pettayil whose inspiring words rekindled in the young hearts the fire of commitment towards a life of goodness and value with her prayer, ''May Don Bosco help you young people to build up our country where all can live in peace, joy and harmony.'' The Salesian Fathers paid their homage lead by the Provincial Rev. Fr. Michel Peedikayil, Vice Provincial Rev. Fr. Shilanand Kerketta, Provincial Economer Rev.Fr. Jose Mathew and the Rector of the Provincial house Rev. Fr. P.P. Paul. Rev. Sr. Philo Chiramal, Superior of HCA, Rev. Sr. Teresa   Ruben, Superior of Snehalaya and Rev. Sr. Annie Kannampuzha Superior and Headmistress of HCA R.K. Puram also paid their homage to the Saint. Anil Sharma the Deputy Mayor of New Delhi and Ms. Kapila Gaur the Municipal councilor of Vasant Vihar graced the occasion with their presence despite their hectic schedule. The Teachers representatives and the school cabinet then paid their respects with flowers and prayers.

After a solemn prayer service by the students, a scintillating cultural programme was performed in salutation to the Patron Saint. The students unfolded a spectrum of artistic talent ranging from a classical fusion dance to Dandiya and Bhangra. The school choir's melodious notes reverberated within the institution walls and enthralled the audience with the brilliance of the songs to Don Bosco which they composed. ''All Hail Don Bosco'' and other hymns challenged any commercial composer by the sheer commitment of the young hearts that believed in the philosophy that they have imbibed from the Salesian Family. The students and the guest paid their homage to the hallowed Saint in words, song, dance, flowers and gifts.

Don Bosco was so compassionate and his ''Preventive Method of Education'' was so revolutionary and ahead of the times that he is now a father to a multitude of teachers. In the words of the event coordinator Ms. Rose Jacob, ''It was an incredible opportunity to renew our faith and pledge to make ourselves worthy teachers.'' Today the Holy Child Auxilium School found itself blessed by its mentor and guide for a few hours. So it was an emotional moment when the casket was wheeled out through the school gates to continue on it incredible journey.
