TRAINING PROGRAM ON PROJECT VISION BUILDING, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND BOOK KEEPING

Hyderabad, Dec. 15. JDW, Germany supported staff training was held at  BIRD, Guntur from 9-11th December 2010. The State coordinator of BSK Mr. Chandra Sekar invited the Chief Guest Fr. Vijaya Bhaskar Thathireddy, the Vice Provincial of Salesian Province of Hyderabad. Fr. Sudhakar Bellamkonda, the Direcor of Bosco Seva Kendra, and Fr. Santiagu Thomas, the Assistant Director of BSK were present on this occasion. Director of BSK, the Chief Guest inaugurated the training program with lighting of the lamp.
In his inagural address, Fr.Sudhakar explored and explained the important development activities that BSK has been implementing. while affirming the coperation and coordination of the BSK staff, he also emphasised that they should responsibly carryout, promote and bring an ever grwoing awareness of the BSK Programmes such as; DHISHA, which provides Career Guidance and Job Placements, DB Tech India, which gives capacity building trainings to our Technical schools, MoRD Training Programmes,  Children Parliament etc., and different Government Schemes available.
he also informed those present regarding Don Bosco Human Resource Development Centre at Gaigalapuram and said that the staff of BSK started an innovative programme as part of local resource mobilization, ''Youth Orphans Under privileged Rehabilitation (YOUR) fund starting with Rs.5 plus as a contribution for conducting development programs under Bosco Seva Kendra. He requested the women members of CBOs to carry forward this programme within their community and even if it means Rs. 1, per person for a month,  the total yearly saving will reach Rs. 240000 which will be sufficient to support few under privileged youth.

Fr.Vijay Bhaskar addressed the meeting and explained about Sectors mainly Business Sector and their contribution to Service Sector. He cited the example of TATA Institute, i.e., TATA Company spending 35% of the profits for Service Sector. He appreciated and explained about Fr.Santiagu's intention to convince the donors for credit linkage for women groups.

He further quoted an article he came across in a Newspaper published from NY during his studies. The headline was ''I got fed up with my life style and I have no happiness'', one young lady committed suicide. I went through the newspaper to know the reason her death, I realized that she had no serious problem at all. The only stated problem was that she was fed-up with her family since she could not get any moral and psychological support from her own family. Having this story as a teaching point, the Chief Guest urged the members to show their moral and psychological support to other members of the group and know that you all belong to one family - the Salesian Family.

He also mentioned a serious and important aspect that poverty should not be an excuse of being unhealthy. He urged the members to include a topic on health awareness whenever they conduct any group meetings / monthly meetings and learn from each other. Mr. Ratnaraju, Market Coordinator thanked all the guests on behalf of the participants present.

The State coordinator conducted group discussions and exercises to explain the Objectives of JDW project. The Meeting also was used to prepare a 'Mandal-wise Business Plan'.

Mr. Raj Kumar and Mrs. Nalini explained maintaining Book Keeping as per MACs, and the process of conducting discussion and exercises in smaller groups. The participants were very happy about the outcome of the meeting and were positive in their feedback
