The Boscoree participants marched towards the Cathedral Church holding hundreds of placards with slogans such as ''Heal the world'', Promote Peace & Unity'', ''Preserve nature'', ''Save Water'', ''Save forest'' and so on. The final gathering took place at the Cathedral Church campus. Fr. Camillus Fernando SDB, Rector of Don Bosco, Thanjavur, welcomed the gathering pointing out the historical value of the place where the first Salesians had landed in 1906 and began their youth work and parish ministry.

The miraculous statue of Mary Help of Christians that was sent by Blessed Michael Rua, the first successor of Don Bosco, was mounted at the stage for the participants to pray and get the blessings. Fr. Camillus explained how Lord William, the then Governor of Chennai, donated the Government Land (the site of the present cathedral church) to the Salesians for youth work. In the same place the first Indian missionary Salesians built the Xavier I.T.I, upgraded the St. Antony's Primary School, and started a boarding for poor students of 70 villages of the their parish territory.

Fr. Albert Johnson SDB, the Provincial of the salesian province of Tiruchy, addressed the rally and called them to promote peace by redefining prosperity according to basic human values, achieving inner silence, shifting the center from oneself to others, forgiving and by maintaining the primacy of God in everything.
