Rural Development Commission - Trichy celebrates Women`s Day
Tiruchy, Mar. 9. The Rural Development Commission of the Salesian Province of Trichy organized Women`s Day celebrations at Keela Eral on March 08, 2012.

More than 1,600 women, belonging to various women`s groups from Keela Eral, Salem, Tharangampadi, Vilathikulam, Nettur, Alangulam, Sayalgudi and Therespuram actively participated in this event. Sri. Chellapandian, Hon`ble Minister for Industry and Labour, Government of Tamil Nadu was the Guest of Honour and gave away the prizes.
Fr. Albert Johnson - Provincial Superior inaugurated the function and addressed the participants. Following this was a debate ``What prevents women from becoming successful entrepreneurs - male chauvinism, bias of the society, economic constraints or women themselves?``
Thereafter a cultural programme which witnessed enthusiastic performances was organised. The participants were provided meals and refreshments, with the programme comign to a close by 4:30 p.m. Fr Ricopar and Fr. Justin Sengol facilitated the event.
