Shifting Good Schools to Great Schools

New Delhi, Nov. 19.  Fr. Joe conducted a one day programme for the CMI Fathers and Principals of Schools and Colleges at Preshita Provincialate, Coimbatore from 9.30 am to 4.oo pm on ''CMI Culture in Schools and Colleges''. The programme was conducted on 9th October 2011. 15 participants attended the programme.
The C.M.I Fathers are in the vanguard of education in India. They were given a good lead and the challenge in education by their founder, Blessed Chavara Kuriakose Elias. He popularized the ''Pallikkoodams'' (Church schools) more than a century ago. Fr. Joe challenged them to move from Good Schools to Great Schools. He invited them to develop the particular C.M.I. culture in their educational institutions. He guided them along eleven elements to develop this culture.

Clarifications were made between primary elements and secondary elements. The participants were thrilled with the idea clarifying their identity and developing their own ''brand''. An ad hoc committee was set up to pursue and complete this venture.
