The funeral service will be held on 14 April 2017 at Christ the King Church, Hatia, Ranchi at 10 am. In praying for the heavenly repose of the soul of Brother Jojo Andrew, a Solemn Eucharistic celebration will be held at 10.00am on the 17th April 2017(Easter Monday) in the same Church.

Brother Andrew Jojo lived the last years of his life almost prisoner in a body that was ailing with sickness - yet he never complained. Although he was a diabetic patient, he seemed to show joy and to rejoice in his affliction. He was seen serene and helping out in whatever way possible even at the cost of hiding the discomfort of his physical body. He spent most of his life in technical schools both in the provinces of Kolkata and New Delhi. He used this practical knowledge till the end of his life. He was always seen with some tool or other in his hand ever ready to repair or see to even minor maintenance of the house or machines. He lived a very simple and unassuming life without craving for honour or glory. His personal path to holiness was - the way of service. He was ever ready to help out in any area that needed his presence.

In 2008 he was relieved of active apostolate in Don Bosco, Kuarmunda and was transferred to the Pre-novitiate house in Jharsuguda, Odisha. He was an encouraging presence for the pre-novices. He used to spend his many hours in the field looking after the field, watering it, caring for the plants and motivating the brothers to take care of everything with a great sense of belonging and love.

Brother Andrew Jojo truly loved his vocation as a Salesian brother. The members of his close knit family loved and admired him as a real hero. The many relatives and friends visited him frequently and felt loved and cared for by him. He endeared himself very easily with everyone and cared lovingly for their wellbeing. It was in Don Bosco Youth Centre, Hatia that she spent his final years.

May the dearly departed soul of Br. Andrew Jojo through the loving mercy of God rest in peace!

Deeply mourned by the Salesian Province of Delhi.
