Speaking to the participants, the Chief Guest  Father Januarius Sangma stressed the importance of listening in a world dominated by the social media. It is a common sight to see young people engrossed with their smart phones even if they sit or walk together. Even during meetings and speeches people are busy with their mobile phones. Therefore, listening to others especially the young people becomes all the more important as listening is personal, he concluded.

Drawing from the Strenna of the Salesian Family given by the Rector Major, Fr. Charles Sangma once again re-emphasised the quality of listening to young people in families, school, church and in social settings. He said that in a mechanical world personal guidance and accompaniment is very crucial in the development stages of young people.

In his key note address Shri Jasper P Marak, President of Don Bosco Alumni, Tura Unit expressed his joy and happiness that the annual meeting was organised. He also welcomed everyone to the meeting. Shri Ambrose Ch Marak, former President of the association shared his long association with the alumni during which he participated in national and international conferences.
Shri Dipu N Marak present the annual reports of activities of the association followed by Shri Linus Marak who present a brief report of the Don Bosco Alumni School Daren Agal. During the general discussion and interaction members suggested ways and means to strengthen the organisation and make it vibrant.
