Don Bosco School Principals in the Province of Guwahati meet

Guwahati, Feb. 21. The Salesian principals of the province met on 15th February, 2017 at the Provincial House, Panbazar-Guwahati. Father Johnson Parackal, DBSEM co-ordinator welcomed the Provincial Father VM Thomas and the principals.

Fathers VM Thomas expressed gratitude to all the principals for their dedicated services in the field of education. He emphasized on the quality of education and helping the students discover their talents and skills, thus enabling them to be better person for the society. ''I am happy with the progress made by the schools and the contribution of the Salesians in taking the Don Bosco schools of the province to great heights,'' he said.

During the meeting the principals discussed and decided to take concrete steps to take DBSEM ahead. Some of the discussions were on the common textbooks for all ING schools; subject wise training for teachers especially in subjects like Maths, Science, English and Social Science. Discussion was also made regarding the syllabus and a common question papers for all the schools.

Other topics that were discussed by the principals were the school teachers' meet. The principals expressed that the earlier meetings conducted motivated the teachers and encouraged them to work with zeal and enthusiasm. Request was made to organise more Don Bosco teachers' meet. Fr. Johnson Parackal, Co-ordinator DBSEM will follow up the teachers' meet.
 
Other things that were discussed were common exercise books for all the schools to be printed at Don Bosco Technical School, Maligaon and common school software to be develop by Bosco Soft, Yellagiri Hills. All the Principals appreciated the presentation and were thrilled with the idea of implementing in their respective schools so that they could have details of every student's profile.

Father Damian Basumatary, thanked the Provincial Fr VM Thomas for his vision and dedication in providing an inspiring and dynamic leadership in making the DB schools of the province centres of excellence. He acknowledged everyone's active participation in the meeting. He thanked Father Johnson Parackal, for his initiative in taking the educational services forward through DBSEM.
