Short Film on Don Bosco Planned
By Staff Reporter
Dimapur, Apr. 9. The final year students of Don Bosco College, Maram have initiated a plan to produce a short film on the life of Don Bosco. The 30-minute film is to feature the best actors of the College and is intended as a tribute to the `father and friend of the young` whose bicentennial birth anniversary occurs in 2015.
Manipur`s best cinematographer has agreed to be part of the ambitious project, while the location details and logistics are being worked out by the campus media-in-charge and designer, Mr. Amit Kumar. The concept and script is the brainchild of Mr Kago Tabio, who will also essay the lead role. Fr. Benny James sdb, an experienced director of stage performances will direct the film.
Intense preparation sessions involving Salesian filmmakers are on at the campus. Fr Mathew Paul sdb -an experienced filmmaker provided inputs on camera presence and natural depiction of characters. Fr. Jiji Kalavanal sdb, national-award winning short filmmaker also interacted with the student-actors.
The cameras are set to roll on May 13, 2011. The students are preparing themselves for the shoot-schedule in all eagerness.
