By Sr. Hathorky Goyary FMA, Bot II
Dimapur, Apr. 1. DBCMaram 30 March 2011 ( www.dbcmaram.org ): The farewell program for the outgoing graduates of Don Bosco College, Maram was organized on 30 March, 2001 in the auditorium of the college. The initiative for the programme was taken up by the Degree 2nd Years. The graduating students numbered 260.
The adieu programme was attended by Fr. Benny James SDB, Principal; Sr. Rose Mary Kazhiia FMA, Vice Principal; all the Lecturers; the outgoing students, degree II  and a few representatives from the Degree I.  Before the commencement of the program the 3rd Years were given badges in their departments by the Degree  2nd Yeras.  The program started off at 10.am with a prayer said by Fr. Benny James SDB, the Principal, invoking God`s blessings on all present.
Miss Rohita Ghaley from the department of Commerce welcomed the 3rd Years and the audience for the farewell programme and invited them to grace the items with mixed feeling of joy and sorrow. Among the many items performed on the stage, there were addresses read both by the 2nd and 3rd Years representatives expressing their love and appreciation for the college, the management, lecturers and friends. The outgoing students were particularly grateful to the College and as a sign of their appreciation gifted a sound box of 700 watts, for the use of the college. It was received thankfully by the Principal.
Dr. Anthony Kaba, a senior Lecturer, spoke on behalf of the staff. He told them of the challenges that are ahead of them and exhorted them top keep up the values acquired during their college days at DBCMaram.  He said, `All can make something if we believe in ourselves and utilize what we have.`
Rev. Fr. Principal speaking on the occasion gave his most fatherly advice to them, sharing various aspects of challenges of the future. He appreciated the good they were able to do in the college, their active and creative ways of doing things. He encouraged them to keep up the name of the College by their performance in the University Examinations. He made known to them the number of ranks the students secured in the past seven years. He showed his trust in them and told them to excel in what they have learnt and lead the others. He gave away a certificate of leadership each to the 3rd years Captains and Vice Captains of various departments exhorting them to, `continue to be a leader`.
The stage performance was followed by refreshments served for all present. The outgoing students were gifted with a file each by the 2nd Year students. The day`s programme ended with photo session by the Principal..
Even after the programme was over the students were seen lingering on in the College Campus for the last time as they will be missing the good atmosphere of the college and the good people around.
