``Salesian Family delegates together pledge to serve the young``

Chennai, Nov. 15. The First Salesian Family Formation Meeting of South Asian region was held in Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore on November 9-13, 2011.  The Salesian Family delegates of 10 SDB and 6 FMA provinces South Asian region participated in the meeting. It was animated by the world delegates of SDB and FMA delegates for Salesian Cooperators and Don Bosco Alumni and FMA past pupils from Rome.  The meeting was first of its kind which is held in the South Asian Region and 45 delegates participated.

The First Salesian Family Formation Meeting of South Asian region was held in Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore on November 9-13, 2011.  The Salesian Family delegates of 10 SDB and 6 FMA provinces South Asian region participated in the meeting. It was animated by the world delegates of SDB and FMA delegates for Salesian Cooperators and Don Bosco Alumni and FMA past pupils from Rome.  The meeting was first of its kind which is held in the South Asian Region and 45 delegates participated.
Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Regional Councillor, South Asia, presided over the Eucharist and in his keynote address titled `` Multiplying our Forces - Shifting  Strategies Changing Aveneus``, challenged the assembly of the delegates of the Salesian Family, to explore new avenues to fulfill the mission Don Bosco, to reach out to millions of youth. Sr. Maria Trigila, World Delegate of Salesian Cooperators , animated the assembly on ``rereading of the Mission Statement of the Salesian Family``.
The document of the Salesian Family was presented by Fr. Stjepan Bolkovac, World Delegate of Salesian Cooperators. The Formation Programme to animate and accompany the network of Salesian Family was dealt by Fr. José Pastor Ramirez and Sr. Maritz Ortiz, World Delegates of Past Pupils. Sr. Maria Luisa Miranda, General Councillor for Salesian Family, Sr. Maria Trigilia presented ways to ``Accompanying the Salesian Family towards the Salesian Charism``. Fr. Jose Pastor Ramirez the world delegate of Don Bosco Alumni, Fr. Peedikayil Michael, Provincial of Delhi and Fr. Anchukandam Thomas, Provincial of Bangalore, animated the delegates during the Eucharistic celebration. This formation meeting was moderated by the Fr. Maddhichetty Noel, Delegate of the Salesian Family for South Asia. The animated assembly of delegates after much reflection drew up a statement with the help of a five member drafting committee headed by Fr. Wilfred D`Souza SDB, Salesian Cooperators Delegate of INB. The salient features of the statement were the present situation, concerns of change of mentality, guidelines for the Salesian Family for the South Asian Region. The assembled delegates of the Salesian Family pledged to journey together and drew up  an action plan for the coming three years in preparation for the Bi-centenary of the Birth of Don Bosco, at Regional, Provincial and local level. Fr. Emmanuel Vattakunnel, the Salesian Family delegate of INK province, organised the meeting and the cultural day with Salesian Community of Provincial House, which was much appreciated by all the delegates.
