By Fr. Michael Raj sdb
Chennai, Nov. 9. A large gathering of people awaited eagerly at the main road to welcome the relic into DBRITE, Cuddalore, at 8.15 a.m. on 9th November.  The relic of Don Bosco was received by the Director of Fr. Sathiyaseelan and taken in procession to the house for veneration.

The Salesian community, students, parents, SHG members, religious and people from the neighbouring parishes gathered around the relic and took part in the short prayer service. At the end of the service, everyone had the golden opportunity to see and touch the casket and pay their homage as they placed their intentions before the saint.  At 9.30 a.m. the casket was slowly moved out of the campus and sent on its way to St. Mary's Church, Cuddalore.
Amidst large gathering of people from in and around the town of Cuddalore, Panruti and Puducherry, the relic was taken in procession into St. Mary's Church at 10.30 a.m.  Thousands of children from the schools, religious, priests and sisters and Catholics and people of other faiths flocked to see the relic that was kept for public veneration until 12.30 p.m. With great difficulty, the relic was shifted from St. Mary's church, to be taken for veneration in Puducherry.
