During the early sessions on the first day, Fr. Joseph Thannickal helped the young priests on meaning and fulfilment in priestly life. He initiated them into very profitable ambience of sharing their experience. On the same day they were put in tune with the discussions the Salesian Congregation has initiated on Rethinking Youth Ministry. Before the close of the first day, they listened to Fr. Provincial, and also joined him in the Eucharistic celebration. On the second day, the new priests of the year led the Eucharistic celebration. The sessions were on Understanding the Revised Mass Texts presented by Fr. Paul Puthanangady and YouCat by Fr. Gilbert Choondal SDB. Fr. Puthanangday also introduced to the young priests the Lineamenta for the forthcoming Synod of Bishops on the New Evangelization. On the third and final day Dr Thimappa Hegde, Neurosurgeon at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore led the participants into an experiential understanding of moving from Religion to religiousness, from prayer to prayerfulness, from God to Godliness. This was to enlighten the young priests how they could be effective in the multi-religious context of their apostolate. Several opined that the animation programme of this year was the best they had attended so far. In the province priests within the first years of their priestly ministry are categorized as young priests.
