Bosco Peace Rally creates ripples in Thanjavur

Some 4000 Scouts, Guides, Scout Masters, Guides Captains, and others associated with Boscoree hailing from 20 states and 2 union territories of India, held a Peace Rally on 2 January from Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School Thanjavur to the Cathedral Church. The Thanjavur District Superintendent of Police Mr. Dharmaraj IPS inaugurated the peace rally, which commenced at 3.30 PM. The Peace Rally apparently created ripples in the Thanjavur town, with the show of colour and strength of purpose. . Read More

Boscoree, the all India Don Bosco Scouts and Guides gathering this year has broken the Guinness World Record and set a new record at the Assist World Records and the Record Raisers, by having ''The Most number of People Wearing Paper Hats'' simultaneously, on 3 January, 2015 at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Thanjavur. Previously the same record was achieved an year ago with 3,045 scouts in Manfeild Park, New Zealand, on 1 January 2014. . Read More

The second day of Boscoree 2014 began with the rouse call at 5.15 am. At 7 am Scouts and Guides gathered for the Holy Eucharis and all Faith prayer. Fr. Maria Charles, the Youth Pastoral Delegate for South Asia, presided over the Holy Eucharist for the Scouts. Fr. Rajadevan, the Camp chief, presided over the Holy Eucharist for the Guides. The 12th Boscoree began today, 30 December, with over 3000 enthusiastic scouts and guides gathered in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Fr. Albert Johnson SDB Provincial of Trichy province, president of the event declared the Boscoree2014 open with a call to ''Heal the world with Love'', the theme of the Boscoree this year. This is the 12th Boscoree being held, bringing together the Don Bosco Scouts and Guides from all over India. This year's Boscoree gets an added significance as it is being held in the 200th centenary year of Don Bosco's birth. . Read More
