A two day seminar on the Constitutions of our Congregation was held in Divyadaan on the theme - ''Returning To Don Bosco'' - by Fr Chris Saldahna from the formation department on December 6 and December 7. Given that the number of Management Institutions are rapidly escalating, Don Bosco Institute of Management & Research (DBIMR) attempted to differentiate itself through manifesting the values of Don Bosco. The recently launched DBIMR put its sixty students into ten NGOs in the surrounding areas of Andheri, Sion and Kurla. These groups of NGOs work with different target audiences namely; Women, Youth and Children. The students were put through an orientation exposure of NGOs working with each of these segments. They were then asked for their preferences and accordingly the students were allocated the NGO with which they would work. . Read More

The BOSCOM General Assembly met for its annual general body meeting in Kolkata at the province communication center, Nitika from November 26 to November 27, 2010. Twenty-nine members from the ten provinces of India together with the SPCSA in charge for BOSCOM Fr. Thomas Anchukandam, Provincial of INK met to discuss the future plans and interlinking of all the Salesian communication centers in India under the single banner BOSCOM. Quoting USA President Barack Obama, Fr. Thomas said great things are achieved through much struggles and failures. Mother Teresa International Film Festival took off on a solemn note in Chennai this morning at Don Bosco Auditorium, with Dr. Balasubramaniam - Director, Faculty of Science & Humanities, Sr. Bina Paul, Superior- Missionaries of Charity, Film Directors SS Stanley, Ezhil, Sasi, Saravanan Subbaiah, Ms. Kameela Nasser - Producer and Actress Chandra Lakshmanan declaring open MTIFF 2010. The Salesian province of Mumbai celebrated its Provincial Community Day at St. Dominic Savio's, Andheri. Over seventy Salesians gathered around their Provincial, Fr. Michael Fernandes and his team of councilors to express their sentiments of gratitude. Coinciding with the feast of its patron, St. Francis Xavier, the celebrations began with a well animated Eucharistic Celebration. The theme for the day was 'Communion of Hearts'.
