Turin: Italian artist of international repute Brother Guerrino Pera died yesterday All Saints Day at Leumaan, Turin. The 78-year-old Salesian was fighting cancer of the liver for past few years. Leicestershire: In a rare form of annual study, a group of parish priests and pastoral co-workers in the United Kingdom dealt with the topic ``stewardship of creation.`` Guiding them was a Salesian priest from India, Father Joshtrom Isaac Kureethadam. The Salesians` UK province members, for a change, last week shifted their focus from issues on pastoral topics and listened to the Indian, who has obtained doctor of studies certification on the ``philosophical roots of the ecological crisis in modernity.``. The Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) students held a candle light solidarity march with the theme ``gender justice`` on Monday 28 October at 5 pm. A student who snatched the first rank in Nagaland University`s Bachelor of Education this year has joined Assam Don Bosco University`s new program - Masters in Psychological Counseling. A Kolkata province Salesian has received the ``Post Doctoral Diplomate,`` the final credential in logotherapy from the Viktor Frankl Institute, Dallas, Texas. The Institute conferred the accreditation for Dr Joseph Thannickal`s work exploring the relationship between meaning in life and religious leadership. A group of religious has made a short film to mark the golden jubilee of the Conference of Religious India (CRI), the national association of Catholic religious in the country. The celebrations are scheduled to be held at two venues at Don Bosco Guwahati (Kharguli and Pan Banzar) with three-day program starting November 7. A group of young men preparing to enter Salesian order have started taking classes for children from their neighborhood. The pre-novices surveyed the villages belonging to nine ethnic groups to collect the data of school going children and school drop-out youth of the area.
