John Med, who breathed his last on 25 January at 10 in the Morning, arrived at Salesian College, Dimapur, on 27 January, late evening, accompanied by the Fathers, Sisters, and representatives from the centres where Fr. The South Asia Vocation Guidance Meet ends with a unanimous commitment to relaunch the mission of creating a culture of vocations in the individual provinces. There were 30 participants from the provinces of India and the Vice province of Srilanka. Fr. John Med, former Provincial of Chennai, and a pioneer missionary in the hills of Nagaland and Manipur passed away on 25 January at 10.15 in the morning at Don Bosco School, Chingmeirong, Imphal, in the state of Manipur. He was 96. . Read More

There were two great days in the history of BIRDY as nearly 300 young people from some of the Institutions of the Salesian in Andhra Pradesh and other Institutions in the city took part in a two-day YOUTH FEST 2011 with the theme 'born to lead' that was organized at the BIRDY premises on 22nd and 23rd January 2011. The Annual Salesian Family day for the Northern region was celebrated in the Salesian Provincial House, Okhla, Delhi on 23rd January 2011. Keeping with the tradition of the day the Strenna 2011 ''Come and See'' was presented and studied by the members of the Salesian Family numbering about 55 in all. The groups that were represented were SDBs, FMAs, Salesian Cooperators, SMIs, MSMHCs, and Disciples. The SDBs present were Fr. Michael Peedikayil, Provincial, Fr. Shilanand Kerketta, Vice-Provincial, Fr. Jose Mathew, Provincial Economer, Rectors and confreres from the communities in Delhi and from northern states.. Read More
