A summer camp for the street children of the twin cities of Hyderabad-Secunderabad was simultaneously flagged off on May 1, 2014 at Ramanthapur and Nampally. 130 children from the Navajeevans (street children rehabilitation centres) along with those from the centres run by the Salesian Sisters and Sisters of Charity will be the beneficiaries of this Summer Camp. . Wondering what sadistic pleasure we derived by bringing students almost the day after the final examinations of the academic year 2013- 14 to prepare for the Academic Year 2014-15? Wondering if we are in competition with corporate schools which have redefined education, vacation and many other traditional vocabulary associated with schools and students? No, we are not in competition. We are travelling on A Road NOW Less Travelled, a Road, the contours of which is still visible despite the grass that has over grown it. The April 25th to 29th Summer Camp for Human Rights Club Office Bearers got off the block the day after the schools closed for holidays so that when the schools reopen they are ready to shoulder their responsibilities as Human Rights Club leaders! 85 students (girls and boys from government schools) participated in the programme. . In a striking gesture of solidarity Don Bosco Matriculation School and Don Bosco School of Excellence, Egmore donated Rs.25 Lakhs to the school children of St. Joseph High School, Pavunjur in Kancheepuram District of Tamil Nadu. The fund, collected from the Charity Dance show DOBODA Season-3, held in January 2014, will be utilized to give scholarships, to build classrooms and laboratories to upgrade the rural school to Higher Secondary status. . Don Bosco IMAGE is once again being recognized at the oldest annual International Catholic Film and Multimedia Festival in Poland. The films got the recognition out of 160 movies, from 23 countries among the Short-Film category. The films selected from Don Bosco IMAGE are Beyond (Short Film 15 min,) and Feliz Navidad (Short Film 27 min,). BREADS (Bangalore Rural. Educational and Development Society), a social project of the Salesians of Bangalore Province, has just released a Kannada CD that contained songs on Child-Rights. Minchu, the title of the CD, contains ten Kannada songs related to children and their rights. Four of the composers are Salesians from the province of Bangalore: Fr. Regi, Fr. Jesudas, Fr.
