DBHRDC Gagillapur- Hyderabad initiates 02-month Training in Tailoring

Hyderabad, Sep. 9. Don Bosco Human Resource and Development Centre (DBHRDC), Gagillapur-Hyderabad set up a Sewing Training Centre years before to make women self-sufficient and confident. This year, notwithstanding the COVID-19, the difficulties and constraints, the Salesians at Gagillapur offer women new opportunities in addition to improved status.

The inauguration of the 02-month Training in Tailoring course scheduled for 09 September, took place with the 16 girls who registered for the course.
DBHRDC Gagillapur seeks to serve and assist the economic emancipation of women as a requirement for sustainable development. Women manage multiplying development efforts only through Gender equality and empowerment. On several platforms, Government of India has enacted various rules and regulations within the constitutional structure in improving female representation in diverse professions. Similarly, the Salesians cater to the training of multiple skills in women to overcome monotony and dreariness, with skill development and training to improve the quality earning prospects for women and to enrich sustainable rural development and incomes.

Father Provincial unveiled the tailoring course with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Father Sudhakar Bellamkonda addressed the gathering and welcomed all the dignitaries, students, and staff. He said, ''self-confidence and will-power could certainly enhance to begin anew in learning a trade.'' Fr Provincial in his message encouraged the girls who willingly volunteered to learn skills in tailoring, discover the inner talents and make use of new opportunities that the world offers today. He said, ''I am indeed happy for your courage and audacity. I am also inspired with your ardent desire to learn and to use the tricks of the trade, for your own empowerment.''

Later, tailoring equipment were distributed to all the candidates as part of the curriculum. The girls performed several cultural items as a sign of delight and commencement of the course.
