New Delhi, Jun. 2. BOSCOM South Asia Executive Body and the Province Secretaries had a joint Google Meet on 01 June.  Father K. M. Jose - Provincial of Chennai and BOSCOM Provincial Incharge with Father Ernest Rosario-BOSCOM Delegate, and Father P. T.  Joseph-SPCSA Webmaster, updated the participants of further updates and initiatives in the offing, exhorting all members to  stay connected.
Father Jose enumerated the pillars of communication: formation, information and production. Father Rosario, spoke about the universality of the mission. Father Joseph informed that the Don Bosco South Asia website framework is ready, and will connect various Bosco Information Services and SPCSA flagship programmes in the South Asia region. He also presented the status of the SPCSA website project and enumerated how we could collaborate to make it dynamic. He said, '' I invite all to participate and promote the Weekly News/Views podcasting from the South Asia region. There will be a shift from static webpages to dynamic webpages with relevant data incorporated from department websites and databases.''

The participants also discussed the Don Bosco South Asia App, which can be downloaded from Google Play store very soon, with the SPCSA website menu. A wWeekly news podcast initiated on 24 May summarizes the South Asia Salesian news and events. Anyone who is willing to record using their mobile phone and share their mp3 file with BIS [Bosco Information Service] can take part in the upcoming news podcasts. Digital Asset Management (DAM) to manage digital assets such as videos, photos, documents, and other media will be started in the future. With DAM, Salesians can secure, organize, and search digital assets easily. The Salesian Society  in South Asia is generating so many headlines on a weekly basis. Boscom will combine the best of news headlines, photos and videos from the Salesian world and route it through the platform of Salesian Digital Noticeboard.

More than ever, today videos have become a main source of news and information consumption. Every year there are so many events, programs, seminars, conferences, and celebrations organized in South Asian region by Salesians. They will be documented and given more visibility and reach through a single official Boscom Media Network Channel.

With a plethora of online communication platforms that are free, there are also risks of security breaches, hacked email accounts, forgotten passwords, locked out email accounts, ransom blackmails, etc. Hence, it was decided that  Domain Based Email Ids will add authenticity to all Salesian communications providing added safety and security with an option to recover the IDs and content.

BOSCOM is aiming to achieve a convergence of media broadcasts for the South Asia Region and it is important that these initiatives and plans be worked out through collaboration and connectedness.
