DBCE Alumnus Deepak Kolur wins BNI Entrepreneurship Award

Panjim, Aug. 30. Deepak Kolur, alumnus of Don Bosco College of Engineering of 2017-18 batch from Mechanical Engineering Department brought laurels to the Institution by winning an award in appreciation for his contribution to the national growth as an entrepreneur on occasion of World Entrepreneurs Day from BNI, Goa.
Kolur was nominated by Goa State Innovation Council and received the Award from Fr. Kinley D'Cruz, Director, DBCE, Chief Guest of the function.

Deepak along with Saideep Naik and Harshad Kavlekar have made DBCE proud as they were selected as co-founders for designing & manufacturing of E- richshaws at the Stademy Start up Competition, organised by an Australia based Start-up Academy recently.

Deepak together with Saideep worked on the project, Disabled Friendly Wheel Chair under the guidance of Professors, Swapnil Ramani and Ajit Salunke, HOD Mechanical Department. They had entered the Zonal rounds of DRDO Competition DRUSE in 2018 and the project was selected for India International Science Festival 2018 at Lucknow from among the top 22 projects of Make in India category.  They secured the second place at FSIE 2019 in Mumbai and were selected to represent Goa University at Anveshan 2019, All India UGC Competition at Udaipur. The prize winning wheelchair is presently donated to a disabled girl by an NGO.  Presently, three more wheel chairs are being fabricated as part of CSR activity of a Goa Based Industry.  

They were supported by Mr. Sudip Faldessai, Project Officer, Goa State Innovation Council. Fr. Kinley D'Cruz, Director, Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal congratulated Deepak and his team for their splendid achievements in the field of entrepreneurship at such an early start of their career.
