THIRD DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF FATHER SYLVANUS SNGI LYNGDOH

Shillong, Jun. 17. Shillong: On 27 of May 2019, the third death anniversary of Father Sylvanus Sngi Lyngdoh sdb was held at Sacred Heart Theological College Mawlai. The community gathered around the Tomb of Father Sngi for a short programme to bless the bust of Father Sngi. Father Marius Thongi, the Parish Priest of Mawlai Parish was the chief guest who blessed the bust and unveiled it. The community is grateful to Father Barnes Mawrie, the president of the college for all the initiative and the contribution.

The Bust was a token of love and appreciation that the community expressed in a tangible way to the Great Missionary. His valuable contributions and selfless sacrifice the community will remain ever grateful. The bust will help the visitors in the year to come to recall the ever-smiling face of Father Sngi. A garden besides his tomb is dedicated to him, there is a Memorial hall and Fr. Sngi's Museum besides the bust. The community of Sacred encourages the people to pay a visit to his tomb and ask for his intercessions.
