Rev. Fr. Dennis Panipitchai SDB as Auxiliary Bishop of, ''The Diocese Miao''

Dimapur, Aug. 2. The Episcopal Ordination of Rev. Fr. Dennis Panipitchai Sdb took place at Borduria, Arunachal Pradesh on 20 August 2018. There were 16 Bishops, about 150 priests, 250 Sisters & Other Religious and about 5000 faithful.
It was a landmark event in the history of Catholic Church in East Arunachal Pradesh. It was a triple celebration of the 40th year of the arrival of the Faith in East Arunachal and more particularly in Borduria village, Silver Jubilee of the visit of St. Mother Teresa to Borduria on and the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Dennis.

The Chief consecrator was Most Rev. Thomas Menamparampil Sdb, Bishop Emeritus of Gowahati; and co-consecrators were Most Rev. John Moolachira, Archbishop of Guwahati and Most Rev. Dominic Jala Sdb, Archbishop of Shillong. Among the other bishops include Most Rev. Remegius Peter, Bishop emeritus of Kottar and Most Rev. Francis Kalist, Bishop of Meerut.
This appointment was made public in Rome on Friday, 8th June, 2018, at noon local time, corresponding to 15:30 hours, Indian Standard Time. It was announced at Miao by Most Rev. George Pallipparambil Sdb, Bishop of Miao, at the Bishops's House n the presence of Most. Rev. Joseph Aind Sdb, Bishop of Dirbrugarh and Rev. Sr. Elizabeth George Fma, Provincial Superior of Guwahati, who were present in Miao for their Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Religious profession of Most. Rev. Joseph Aind along with host of Priests and Religious from the Diocese.
Rev. Fr. Dennis Panipitchai, SDB, was born in Colachel, in the Diocese of Kottar,  Tamil Nadu, on 27 July 1958. After attending St. Mary's Parish School in Colachel, in 1976 he entered the pre-novitiate of the Salesians in Shillong, and there he did his novitiate in 1979. On 24 May 1980, he made his first profession as a Salesian Brother. Later he felt the call to priesthood and did his studies in philosophy at Divyadaan Salesian Institute of Philosophy, Nashik. He continued with theology at Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong. He obtained a Master's degree in Theology and in a civil subject. After making his solemn profession, on the same day he was ordained Priest, on 27 December 1991.
He served in the following ministries: Dean of Studies, Salesian pre-novitiate, Rua Home, Jorhat, Dibrugarh (1992-1995); Administrator of Don Bosco Bible School, Tinsukia, Diocese of Dibrugarh (1995-1997); In-charge of Don Bosco School, Borduria, now in the Diocese of Miao (1998-2000); Principal of Don Bosco School, Miao and Assistant Priest in the same Parish, Archdiocese of Imphal (2001-2004); Parish Priest at Mary Help of Christians Church, Borduria (2004-2009); Principal of Don Bosco School, Kohima (2009-2015).
Since 2015 He was the Parish Priest of Mary Immaculate Parish, Chingmeirong, in the Archdiocese of Imphal from 2015 to 2018. Since 2012 he was also Provincial Councillor. At the time of the announcement of his appointment as Auxiliary Bishop of Miao, he was the Salesain Novice Master at Zubza near Kohima, Nagaland.
