DB relic at Becchi Theologate

Chennai, Nov. 17. The fathers and brothers of Becchi - Salesain Theologate, received the casket containing the relic of Don Bosco at 12.30 p.m., yesterday. It was exposed for public veneration during which numerous school students and lay people from the neighbourhood participated. A solemn concelebrated Eucharist was celebrated at 3.00 p.m. by Fr. Bellarmine, the rector.

Earlier, the Salesians of Becchi together with Anbu Illam boys accorded a solemn welcome to the relic at the Panpakkam road. At the entrance of the Anbu Illam, Fr. Bellarmine garlanded the relic.

Later at 12.30 p.m., the students of theology and the staff of the theologate welcomed the relic as it arrived at their campus. It was then kept for public veneration. Till 3.00 p.m. people came in queues to pay homage to the saint. The religious of the vicariate, and thousands of school children came to venerate the relic. At 3.00 p.m., a solemn Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Bellarmine,at which the priests of the vicariate participated. In his homily the celebrant noted that we are a privileged people to experience this historic event. Later, the all the Salesians renewed their commitment in front of the casket.
