Musisc That Makes Sense

Dimapur, Oct. 26. Maram 27 Oct, 2009: Internationally famous and world renowned music band - REX BAND - performed live on Don Bosco College, Maram ground. The music extravaganza was watched by enthusiastic and lively ten thousand people. This was the greatest crowd pulling event that Maram has witnessed in its history of existence.
The programme was jointly organized by Don Bosco College, Maram and its alumni.

The programme began with words of welcome from Rev. P.O Sebastian, the rector of Don Bosco College, Maram and invocation prayer led by Rev. Nelie Linus, the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Imphal. Among many dignitaries present were Fr. Jose Palely, Provincial Economer; four German collaborators; Col. SB Rana, Commandant of 22 Assam Rifles; 26 Xavier Board Executive members among whom were the principals of some of the top colleges in the country; heads of various organizations; and hosts of others. The three hour programme with lively music interspersed with acting thrilled the audience.

Rex Band is a Jesus Youth wing of music band. The artists are well-known members of Southern music industry. Jesus Youth being a charismatic movement in the Church, their music inspires people to virtuous life. All the numbers were religious. Occasional testimony given by the artists before or after the song inspired the audience to greater religious commitment and godly life style.

The Rex Band began its first tour of North East India by their performance at Maram. The other places are Kohima, Diphu, Guwahati and Shillong.  Everyone who witnessed the show was full of praises for the band and for enlivening experience that they have had.
