Don Bosco Youth Mission and Educational Services (DBYES) celebrates Silver Jubilee

Guwahati, Dec. 6. Don Bosco Youth and Educational Services (DBYES) celebrated 25 stellar years of service to the region in the field of education and youth empowerment on 5th December, 2016. The celebration recalled the success, togetherness and it re-live the dream of DBYES and DBI.
Former Chief Minister of Assam Shri Prafulla Kumar Mahanta was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He recalled the contributions of DBYES towards community building and peace initiative when he was the Chief Minister. He wished that DBYES through Don Bosco Institute in Kharghuli continue the legacy of transforming the lives of people in the society.

Present at the evening celebration was the Archbishop of Guwahati, John Moolachira who has been the source of inspiration and encouragement to DBYES.

Father VM Thomas, Provincial and Founder Director, DBI He appreciated those who pioneered along with him to make the dream of DBYES come true. ''DBYES/DBI has contributed significantly to the growth of the society. Many who are associated with the project have become great leaders in society,'' said Father VM Thomas.

Fr. VM Thomas also recollected the humble beginning of the work for the youth in Northeast. ''DBYES was a path breaking trail and a purpose-driven trajectory, reaching out to thousands, scaling excellence and achieving innumerable milestones,'' he added.

Fr. Johnson Parackal, Executive Director Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli welcomed the gathering and felicitated the guests. Addressing the gathering he said, ''The evening programme was a moment to re-commit and re-dedicate the mission ''Building Dreams, Shaping Lives,'' and walk down the memory lane to recall with pride and gratitude all those who accompanied the incredible journey.''

The students of Don Bosco Institute performed Cultural programme to celebrate 25 years of joy and thanksgiving. The staff members present and past were felicitated during the programme.
